Leading aeronautical watchmaker, Bell & Ross, has teamed up with Australian land speed record team, Aussie Invader, in a major sponsorship deal ahead of the team’s world land speed record testing and attempt in 2014/15.
Internationally renowned for combining precision with innovative design and technical rigor, Bell & Ross will become the team’s Official Timepiece & Timekeeping Partner for the record attempt.
Aussie Invader Project Coordinator and rocket-car driver Rosco McGlashan, said he was extremely proud to partner with the leading aviation and marine watchmaker.
“I’m absolutely rapt to welcome Bell & Ross to the Aussie Invader team for our world land speed record attempt. We share the same drive for precision and innovation and having Bell & Ross’ technical expertise on board is extremely important for the project and the team,” Rosco said from his Perth base.
Bell & Ross will provide timing equipment and expertise in the lead up to the attempt, as well as measurement instruments for the rocket-car Aussie Invader 5R.
“The Aussie Invader team is pushing the boundaries of technical innovation in its bid to break the world land speed record and we’re extremely excited to be involved with such a groundbreaking project,” Mr Carlos-A Rosillo, Bell & Ross CEO, said.
Rocket development is expected to take place mid 2014 with initial car and track testing following in late 2014/15.
