It lit a fire that never went out. Today, Rosco holds Australia's official land speed record at 500 mph. He carries the Order of Australia Medal. He has been entered into the Australian Roll of Honour as the Fastest Aussie on Earth.Now he's building Aussie Invader 5R, a rocket-powered car designed to hit 1,000 mph and break the world land speed record. Built right here in Perth.The dream that started at age 12 is closer than ever.
Born in Perth. Driven by a dream. Rosco McGlashan OAM quit school at 12 to chase speed. He built a rocket car with a volunteer team. He became the official fastest Australian on Earth. He was awarded the Order of Australia Medal by the Queen. He holds the Key to the City of Perth. He's been entered into the Australian Roll of Honour.Now in his 70s, he's leading the most ambitious motorsport project this country has ever seen. Aussie Invader 5R is built, ready to test. The target is 1,000 mph. The mission is to put Australia on the world stage.Heroes don't always wear capes. Sometimes they wear a firesuit and strap into a rocket car.
